The new Chief Executive Officer of British Rowing took the opportunity while attending the JIRR at Holme Pierrepont to visit a number of rowing clubs in our region.

Andy Parkinson arrived in Burton-on-Trent on the morning of Friday 24th April and was entertained to lunch by members and club officers at Burton Leander RC before travelling a few yards downstream to be met and escorted around Trent RC.

The next stop was Derby RC in the middle of a very pleasant afternoon by the Derwent, where Andy learned about the club’s colourful history and current plans for a new extension.

On then to Trentside and a tour of Nottingham RC and Nottingham & Union RC and exchange of views with various club members, coaches and club officers.

We are delighted that our CEO took the time to carry out these visits, which can only serve to strengthen the links between British Rowing officials and administrators at Hammersmith, and the clubs and members in the Regions.
