{"id":1238,"date":"2020-03-29T12:18:34","date_gmt":"2020-03-29T11:18:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eastmidlandsrowing.co.uk\/?p=1238"},"modified":"2020-03-29T12:18:34","modified_gmt":"2020-03-29T11:18:34","slug":"notes-from-chairs-forum-26-march","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eastmidlandsrowing.co.uk\/wpfiles\/notes-from-chairs-forum-26-march\/","title":{"rendered":"Notes from Chairs&#8217; Forum 26 March"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"post_div\" style=\"width:70%;margin:0 auto;\">\n\n<h2>Below is an overview of the considerations from the Chairs&#8217; forum 26 March 2020.<\/h3>\n<br\/>\n<ul>\n<li>Short Term Considerations:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Is your club fully secure and closed down.<\/li>\n<li>Are you considering regular checks.<\/li>\n<li>Have fridges and water heaters been emptied and turned off.<\/li>\n<li>Do you need to place rat and mouse traps.<\/li>\n<li>Are boat hatches open.<\/li>\n<li>Are there piles of wet boat towels lying around.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Mid Term Considerations:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Have you conducted a financial review, can this support the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.britishrowing.org\/2020\/03\/help-us-support-the-rowing-community\/\">BR questionnaire.<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Contact your insurance broker to see if they will be willing to reduce the premium as the club is no longer rowing.<\/li>\n<li>Contact CART or EA to reduce boat licence fees (a touchy subject but one worth considering).<\/li>\n<li>Keep an eye out on the BR Club Affiliation process.<\/li>\n<li>Review the ability to rent\/ loan ergs to Club members.<\/li>\n<li>Keep engaged with your squads, you will want them to return to rowing. Look at the upcoming BR media for erg and fitness videos.<\/li>\n<li>Contact other Clubs to see what they are doing.<\/li>\n<li>Consider media platforms to communicate with your squads &#8211; Zoom, google hangouts, MSTeams have all been praised.<\/li>\n<li>Review your Governance and operational documents and policies. Plan a review cycle to ensure all key policies.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.britishrowing.org\/2020\/03\/reminder-safeguarding-and-online-tools\">Safeguarding Policy just been updated<\/a> and other policies will follow<\/li>\n<li>Have you incorporated the BR Codes of Conduct into your Membership packs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Long Term Considerations:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Mark Davies is promoting that his Ladders format might be a great way to come back to full rowing activities.<\/li>\n<li>NCC will be reviewing the Competition Calendar in preparedness to reopen in a controlled way.<\/li>\n<li>Review your Competitions and see what can be done to improve, amend or make it easier to restart (given what may come from the NCC).<\/li>\n<li>Be aware that squads may not be ready to return to rowing (technically and physically). Plan a return to rowing training plan to ensure that they can.
