This year’s Great Coal Row will take place over the weekend of 21-23 June 2019.
Friday 21st June
BBQ at Coalporters with the opportunity to meet the other competitors and a safety briefing.
Saturday 22nd June
Row along the historic Beaulieu River from Royal Southampton Yacht Club to the pond by Beaulieu Palace. Crews will stop off for tea and ice cream before the return row to Gins Farm.
All competitors are invited for an optional evening meal in Southampton
Sunday 23rd June The Great Coal Row
Row from Coalporters to Woodmill along the River Itchen before turning and rowing back out to Netley along Southampton Water where crews sill beach for lunch. After lunch all crews will return to Coalporters.
This will be a private race only for crews participating in the Great Coal Row. Crews will set off in pre-selected divisions where the first crew across the line will win an iconic bag of coal!
Entry fees for this year are £30/pp per day of £55/pp for the weekend. Full details can be found on the event poster.
Entires for this year’s row are open from 1st March 2019.
